Starters, the first of three Cambridge English: Young Learners (YLE) exams, provides for children between the ages of four and twelve. This exam will clearly motivate your child to learn English from an early age to shape up an attitude with a positive inclination towards language exams and attaining knowledge.

The requirements?

Essentially, children who are permitted to sit for the exam, are typically between the ages of four and six. They are usually in kindergartens. Those in Standard 1 are also permitted.

The holistic goals of this exam necessitate the child to be able to:

  • distinguish colours in English
  • give answers to  very simple questions about themselves
  • and write short one-word answers to basic questions.

A question frequently asked: Is there a “FAIL” or “PASS” grade to determine my child’s scholastic performance?

There is no pass or fail for the exam. This is to encourage easy learning. However, your child will be given attractive shields. For each part of the exam, your child will be given a maximum of five distinctive shields. The following illustrates how the shields are awarded. A certificate will be issued about a month after taking the exam, which will show the number of shields awarded for each part.

Movers, the second of three Cambridge English: Young Learners (YLE), prepares children between the ages of four and twelve. It differs from the previous exam in that this exam performance will inspire your child to initiate and conduct communication in real-life situations in English. It will also build up an attitude, which will bring out the positive orientation towards language exams, and make you proud of your child.
